The Duchess of Cambridge launched a new mental health campaign to encourage children “to be comfortable in their own skin” early today in a recorded message.
The message asked teachers and parents to help students overcome self-esteem obstacles. In the short video, Catherine called upon everyone to “give children the emotional strength” to “fulfill their true potential.”
The video was created to help promote Place2Be the charity The Duchess has been the patron of since 2013. The video also coincides with Children’s Mental Health Week 2018.
Catherine, who will soon welcome a third child to the Cambridge family noted that: “Some children will be facing tougher challenges than others, but I firmly believe that while we cannot change their circumstances, we can ensure that every child is given the best possible support to ensure they fulfill their true potential.
Mental health awareness is at the forefront of the issues The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with Prince Harry have been focussed on since they kicked off their Heads Together campaign tackling the stigma of mental health issues.
