On Tuesday, the official start of the State Visit will begin with King Harald laying a wreath at the National Monument in Buenos Aires. The King and Queen of Norway will then travel to the Presidential Place where they will be officially welcomed by President Mauricio Macri and his wife, Juliana Awada.

The State Visit will focus on the economic ties between Norway and Argentina.

It is the first time that the Swedish King and Queen have made a state visit to Argentina. This is the second time the King has visited a South American country. In 2003, he made a State Visit to Brazil.

In 1967, Harald’s Father, King Olav V made a State Visit to the country.
