In Tom Bower’s sensational new unauthorised biography of Prince Charles, he claims that Prince William became infuriated with his father, Prince Charles’s, treatment of Michael and Carole Middleton – the parents of The Duchess of Cambridge. It is even claimed that Prince William even took advice on the matter from Her Majesty The Queen.
In ‘Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles’, Tow Bower sensationally claims that Prince Charles felt ‘usurped’ by the Middletons and ‘isolated’ from his grandchildren Prince George and Princess Charlotte. One such example of this was when William and Kate decided to spend Christmas with the Middleton family rather than the rest of The Royal Family at Sandringham.
It is also claimed Charles felt isolated when William and Kate decided to set up residence at Anmer Hall in Norfolk which is miles away from Prince Charles’s residence of Highgrove.
Pages from Tow Bower’s book are being excerpted in The Daily Mail.
It is claimed within the book that several of The Queen’s Courtiers even “decided to ignore Carole Middleton on social occasions” after hearing of Charles’s alleged fears of being overshadowed.
It is said that Prince William became “infuriated” with this treatment and consulted The Queen on the matter. Taking matters into her own hands, it is said that The Queen “countered the hurtful snubs against Carole” with an invitation to drive her around the Balmoral Estate – even inviting a camera crew to film their outing.
It is alleged that Prince Charles was also disappointed that William and Kate were invited by the Canadian Government to tour the country in 2016 before he was. “Charles saw William and Kate as the new stars and feared he’d be in trouble” the extract read.
The book confirms that while Prince Charles may have been worried about William and Kate “stealing the limelight”, The Duchess of Cornwall was not bothered – “She didn’t give a damn.”
Royal Circular must stress that these are alleged claims from an unauthorised biography of Prince Charles and not the claims/views of Royal Circular.
