The Duchess of Cornwall was a smashing success during a visit to the athlete’s visit at the Commonwealth Games.

The Duchess got a few tips on playing pool from Australian athletes Australian athletes Marty Jackson and Cameron Crombie before heading to take in a bit of table tennis.

Joined by Lucy Turnbull, wife of Austrailian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Camilla tested her skills against Australian boxers Anja Stridsman and Caitlin Parker.

Although she will not be competing in Olympic or Commonwealth Games table tennis, Camilla held her own noting though: “I think I’ll leave it to the professionals.”

Caitlin Parker commented: “She smashed it!”

Charles meanwhile took to a match with some of the Bangladeshi athletes.

Before they tried their hands at table tennis Charles and Camilla took some time to chat with members of the England women’s hockey team, including Olympic gold medallists Susannah Townsend and Sophie Bray.

“She (Camilla) asked us what sport we played, how we expected to do, who our biggest threats were and then she wished us luck,” commented Susannah Townshend.

During their busy day, Their Royal Highnesses visited the famous Broadbeach where Camilla dipped her toes in the Gold Coast surf despite Charles gently warning his wife not to go in.

Charles did not kick off his suede loafers and join his wife but watched as The Duchess of Cornwall tested out the water.
