#RoyalWeddingWatch Duchess of York snubbed for Harry and Meghan’s evening reception

She is one of among 600 guests invited to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and has even secured an invite to the reception at St George’s Hall but Sarah, Duchess of York is said to be “deeply unhappy” after being left off the guest list for the evening reception hosted by Prince Charles.

The second, private evening reception is being hosted by The Prince of Wales at Frogmore House and although The Duke of York and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have been invited, the Duchess of York has not and is reported to be deeply upset at being left out of The Royal Family’s “inner sanctum.”

It is understood that Prince Harry intervened to ensure that Sarah was at the wedding and first reception though as the evening reception is being hosted by Prince Charles, the guest-list for that event was left up to the Prince of Wales.

An insider commented, “Numbers are limited to the evening party, she is not a member of The Royal Family anymore and Prince Charles simply doesn’t have time for her. He just can’t see why she is still such a big part of his Brothers life.”

Although relations between The Royal Family and Sarah Ferguson have thawed over the past few years – she has been invited to Royal Ascot and Balmoral – it is reported that The Queen has to take care to ensure that Prince Philip is not around when Sarah Ferguson is.

It is said that The Duke of Edinburgh holds a deep-seated grudge against the Duchess for the embarrassments she caused The Royal Family in the early 1990’s. Although Prince Philip has not been seen in public for a number of weeks following a hip replacement operation, it is believed the Duke will be well enough to attend the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Another source commented, “It will be fascinating to see if The Duke of Edinburgh acknowledges her. He has held a grudge against her for a long, long time and normally refuses to be in the same room with her.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry on Saturday, May 19th at St George’s Chapel.
