The Queen to meet Melania Trump at Windsor Castle in July

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is set for a working visit to the United Kingdom on July 13th and it is now reported that his wife, Melania Trump, will accompany him on the trip and meet with Her Majesty The Queen at Windsor Castle. This will be the first time that the First Lady has made an overseas trip since having an operation in early May.

Melania Trump underwent an operation on her kidney in early May and did not attend the G7 Summit in Canada or the President’s Summit with North Korean Leader, Kim Jong Un after the White House reported she could not travel for a month after her surgery.

It now seems that the First Lady is fit and well enough to make the journey to the United Kingdom in July.

President Trump and Melania are expected to be staying at the U.S Ambassador’s residence, Winfield House, at Regents Park in London. It is expected that the President and First Lady will meet with Her Majesty The Queen at Windsor Castle. There have been no reports as of yet if the couple will meet with other members of The Royal Family including The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

While details of the Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom are yet to be confirmed, initial reports suggest that there will be a photo opportunity between Her Majesty and the President and that Donald Trump and his Wife will be honoured by No 7 Company of the Coldstream Guards.

Official business with British Prime Minister, Theresa May, is expected to take place at her countryside retreat, Chequers.

This will be Donald Trump’s first official visit to the United Kingdom since he took the Oath of Office nearly two years ago.
