According to the Court Circular, Prince William chatted with the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, over the telephone on Friday just days after the PM welcomed a baby boy with his fiancée, Carrie Symonds.
The listing in the Court Circular read, ‘The Duke of Cambridge this afternoon held a meeting with the Rt Hon Boris Johnson (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) via telephone.’
It is unknown whether the two men shared fatherly advice however the call comes just after a message was sent to Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Carrie from Her Majesty The Queen, congratulating the couple on the safe arrival of their son. Boris Johnson is The Queen’s fourteenth Prime Minister – Sir Winston Churchill was her first.
It was revealed earlier on Saturday that Mr Johnson and Carrie have named their baby, Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson. Wilfred was the name of Boris’s grandfather, Lawrie was the name of Carrie’s grandfather and the couple chose Nicholas after the two doctors who helped saved the PM’s life when he battled Coronavirus – Dr Nick Price and Dr Nick Hart. It was confirmed earlier this week that the family plan to live in their Number 10, Downing Street flat alog with their dog Dilyn.
At the start of April when Boris Johnson was battling coronavirus, Prince William sent a personal message, ‘Our thoughts are with the Prime Minister and his family, who like so many in the UK and around the world are affected by Coronavirus. We wish him a speedy recovery at this difficult time. W.’
