The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly signed up to an exclusive Los Angeles speaking agency which represents former US Presidents, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, as well as their wives, Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton. It is reported that both The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could earn up to £1 million each every time they make a speech after signing up to the elite agency.

Harry and Meghan have joined New York based Harry Walker Agency and plan to be available for talks on social issues such as racial justice, gender equality, the environment and mental health.

Speaking to The Sun, PR expert, Mark Borkowski, said that The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will “clean up” with this new deal and also said, “I’m surprised they haven’t done this sooner. It will be one of the great income generators for them. The speaker’s circuit is a natural safe space for them to plunder.”

In a move similar to that of Barack and Michelle Obama, this will be the first major career move for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex since they stepped back from public duties and as working members of The Royal Family in March. It is often reported that Harry and Meghan will set up a similar working model to that of Barack and Michelle Obama, being quite close to the former Presidential couple.

The Harry Walker Agency possesses many high profile clients aside from The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Obamas and the Clintons. Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams and Tyler Perry are all signed up to the elite agency and are all also close friends of Harry and Meghan.

It was reported back in January that Barack and Michelle Obama were advising The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on how to live life outside of The Royal Family and that Harry and Meghan were keen to mimic the life that Barack and Michelle had made for themselves since leaving the White House – seeing it as successful yet dignified.
