Buckingham Palace instructs ‘outside lawyers’ to investigate Duchess of Sussex bullying claims

It is reported that Buckingham Palace has instructed ‘outside lawyers’ to investigate the allegations of bullying made against The Duchess of Sussex. It is expected that an independent inquiry will be launched after claims were made that Meghan drove out two personal assistants and undermined the confidence of another member of staff in 2018.

The Duchess of Sussex responded to the bullying claims saying she was “saddened by the attack on her character.”

A source told The Times, “The actual worst incidences haven’t come out. There are some harrowing stories to tell. There is a lot that could come out in the wash that hasn’t been told.”

When the allegations were made a couple of weeks ago, a spokesperson for The Duchess of Sussex addressed the claims saying, “The duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to support those who have experienced pain and trauma. She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.”

It was recently reported that The Duchess of Sussex has written to Buckingham Palace requesting the evidence surrounding these bullying allegations.

It is said that a complaint was raised in October 2018 by Jason Knauf, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Communications Secretary at the time. It is also reported that Prince Harry asked Jason Knauf not to pursue it.
