The Duke of Sussex met with Her Majesty The Queen “at least twice” during his visit to the United Kingdom for The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral. According to a friend of Prince Harry’s, he had the opportunity to heal rifts between himself and his family during his time in the UK.
It was the first time Prince Harry had been in the United Kingdom since he and The Duchess of Sussex took part in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
According to Omid Scobie, Prince Harry had the opportunity to meet twice with Her Majesty The Queen. It is also reported that Harry had talks with his father, The Prince of Wales, and his brother and sister-in-law, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Writing on bazaar.com, Scobie said, “The love and respect he has for his grandmother will always be unwavering. The trip was to honour the life of his grandfather and support his grandmother and relatives. It was very much a family-focused period of time. Saturday broke the ice for future conversations but outstanding issues have not been addressed at any great length. The family simply put their issues to one side to focus on what mattered.”
It is also reported that The Duchess of Sussex, who remained in Los Angeles on doctor’s advice, spoke to Her Majesty The Queen before The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
It is expected that The Duke of Sussex will return to the United Kingdom in July to join Prince William at Kensington Palace for the unveiling of a statue of their mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
