A series of overseas tours for various members of The Royal Family have been announced by Buckingham Palace today. The tours are to coincide with national and international celebrations surrounding The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Earl and Countess of Wessex and The Princess Royal will all undertake official visits abroad in the coming months.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall are set to visit the Republic of Ireland from Wednesday 23rd to Friday 25th March. Clarence House will release further details on the visit in due course.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set for a week-long visit taking in Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas from 19th – 26th March 2022. Once again, Kensington Palace are set to release further details on the tour in due course.
Though Buckingham Palace will release full details on The Earl and Countess of Wessex’s tour, they have announced that the couple will visit Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines in April.
The Princess Royal will also visit Papua New Guinea from Monday 11th – Wednesday 13th April 2022.
The news of a series of spring tours comes after a ticket ballot opened on Thursday morning for members of the public to attend the ‘Platinum Party at the Palace’ where a multitude of music and entertainment stars will entertain crowds outside Buckingham Palace in honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
It is expected that more tours will be announced in the coming months.
